in L.A., based in London since 1999, Oli Sorrentino AKA
VJ Anyone started performing in 1997.
At the crossroads between design, cinema and live arts,
VJ Anyone delivers sound reactive video performances to
ever increasing audiences. He has played alongside the top
players across the music industry (Tiesto, Arman Van Helden,
Darren Emerson, GusGus, Marky, Ritchie Hawtin) in world
renowned venues (Pacha / Ibiza, Fabric / London, Womb /
Tokyo, Chemistry / Amstersam), media festivals (ISEA / Nagoya,
ZKM / Karlsruhe, FILE / Sao Paulo), Charity funds (GreenPeace,
World DJ) and branding parties (Nokia, Channel4, Sony PSP,
Diesel).
Recent Highlights:
-Voted world’s 5th top VJ of 2005 by DJ Mag.
-Secured many high profile partnerships, including Hed Kandi,
Encompass and Nokia
-For Nokia’s party in Berlin, performed with the warm
up DJ before Mylo, as well as the DJ strait after Chemical
Brothers, to an 11,000 strong audience.
-Performed audiovisual performances, with Bristol’s
Electro DJ Motorboy, at the Thames Festival in London, New
Media Festivals in Thailand, Armenia and more.
-Released two solo DVDs (Nite Lites / Graph Beats) for MixMash,
Pioneer’s exclusive DVJ content provider.
-Launched his single Voyeur simultaneously in San Francisco
and Tokyo within LightRhythm’s latest DVD compilation.
-Curated three one-hour documentaries of the VJ scene, which
were screened so far in London, New York, Amsterdam, Beijing,
Vienna and Buenos Aires.
-Wrote many VJ related articles in DJ Mag, Paul Spinrad’s
The VJ Book and Roland’s web portal of audiovisual
culture, Visonic.
-Secured a VJ workshop residency at 01 ZeroOne in Soho,
London
