Relyea is a career veteran of the multimedia industry with many award winning client projects, games and consumer titles. In the multimedia industry he developed a love for programming graphics and now produces art in several media both traditional and digital. Professionally he is currently involved in designing and prototyping Verizon’s new fiber optic networked digital television services.

During the 90's Relyea spent a lot of time touring the southwest performing music and exhibiting algorithmic video art in a variety of industrial and avant garde electronic projects(Jump Rope Girls, Ropelab, evilcomputergenius, and 7 Vials of the Apocalypse). All performances were hallmarked by stacks of old TVs and video projection displaying the most recent video works by Relyea. Relyea was also a co-founder of Sub-Tronic Theatre a live electronic music and media showcase designed to showcase the best local underground talent.

Over the years Relyea has developed and interest in algorithmic composition. Rather than creating algorithms as art in their own right, he strives to write algorithms that simulate his own creative process. He breaks down the process of designing, enlarging, and rendering an image on paper or canvas and tries to translate that to the digital realm. Relyea's themes and imagery are influenced by western pop culture, life experience, news networks, google.com, television, superstition, insects, plants and natural forms.
He has a variety of on going projects that involve the concept of dynamic art and contextual art. He is building an artist artificial intelligence. He has projects in the works that dissect spam and create a contextually fragmented audio visual experience out of the diced spam.
